A six-part drama series chronicling the Suffragette Movement in the early 20th century, focussing on the lives of the Pankhurst family, notably Emmeline, who were instrumental in the fight for women to be able to vote. Disgusted at the way her family, and women in general, are treated by the political parties of Britain, Emmeline creates the Women's Social and Political Union, a political party striving to offer female citizens a voice. The series follows the party's push for basic rights through the early part of the century, showcasing the lengths these empowered individuals went to in order to create a better future.
