From the towering cliffs of RSPB Bempton on the coast to shallow, crystal-clear streams further inland, Charlotte Smith explores England's most northerly chalk outcrop — in the East Riding of Yorkshire. She takes part in an annual gannet count and finds out how their numbers are faring after the most recent bird flu outbreak, and how amateur photographers are helping the charismatic puffins of these clifftops. Charlotte also explores the biodiversity of a chalk stream and catches up with the farmer fighting to keep it clean. We also meet the man championing water voles at Skerne Wetlands and a farming family that has worked the land of east Yorkshire for six generations. Adam Henson is in Staffordshire, looking at an initiative aiming to reduce emissions in cattle farming.
