Follow the everyday life of an amusing Manchester working class family. They gather in the living room to watch the TV and have conversations. Jim is the father, a cynical, ill-mannered and lazy man who likes ordering around. Barbara is the hard-working and caring mother. Denise, the daughter, is a lot like her father, while her brother Anthony does everything around the house. The family is frequently visited by Barbara's mother Norma, with whom Jim doesn't get on well.
